Appreciating Life’s Little Things

OMG

All Hail Gmail!

Yep… 275+ new messages received in Inbox today…
Church ppl so “active”… but it’s always fun to read through the conversations.
(Trav, dunno if you’ll read this, but you’re gonna pay… =_=)

I’m just too glad to have Gmail, it grouped everything into 3-4 lines only… XD
Don’t need to go through pages and pages of emails.

To Non-Gmail’ers: It’s now time to join us!!
Join Gmail and throw away all your troubles!
(wish I get a commission for promoting Gmail, but unfortunately the world doesn’t work that way)

Dear C

I’d just like to say, thank you for everything…

The letter you wrote yesterday was indeed very touching, and nearly brought me to tears, and I’m sure it has touched many of our hearts. Yes, recent days we have all been very busy with our preparations, at times we have neglected our loved ones including our friends and families. But yet, we are only spending all this time for the ministry as we love everyone and the Church. You have prompted us to bring this love back into our families. From my heart, I thank you for this reminder.

You are a great leader. We love you big bro. We can see that your family loves you deeply, and that all around you do too. You are a very holy person, and everyone’s “pistachio” (開心果). I will continue to pray for you, as always. God bless you dear bro.

Now, let’s look forward to this big long weekend!!

p.s. Well yeah I don’t know how to write “good letters”, but ya… thank you..

How tired I am

When I get tired, my brain stops functioning. Too many examples that I can think of… (some words/names are changed)

Last Thursday:
*phone rings 9am in the morning*
ET: “Good afternoon, ABDEF, ET speaking… AH! I mean GOOD MORNING!”
Person A: “hahaha…. been a long week eh?”

Last Friday:
*Phone rings*
ET: “Good afternoon, ABDEF, ET speaking…”
Person B: “Hi … is ??? there” (it sounded like that)
ET: “Sorry ??? is not in today…”
Person B: “Oh, sorry this is ??? here…”
ET: “OMG sorry I couldnt’ recognise just then!!”
???: “HAHA…”
(I was so tired that I didn’t recognise ???’s voice through the phone… Person B was in fact ???….)

Today:
*Lining up at cashier, staring into blank space, finally my turn”
Cashier: “Do you have a rewards card?”
ET: “No I don’t” (I said it without thinking)
ET: “eh? Hang on, what am I saying, yes I do have one.”
*takes out the card*
ET: “…. too early into the week…” (continue to stare into blank space)
Cashier: *short laugh*

Final Camp Preparations

Yesterday was the 2nd Sunday of the month, so there was bible study at 9am. I didn’t wake up till 8:45am though, so was ~20 mins late :S Despite that, I realised that I wasn’t actually “late”, cuz I was the third person to arrive! XD Proves that we’re all from HK… being “late” is “normal behaviour”. Studied the miracles in the Book of John, loved it!

After Mass, it was more camp prep. I managed to find what we’ve been searching for in the past few weeks - happy go lucky! Back at church, everyone had their laptops and papers laid out on the tables. More singing and discussions. We also “raided” the kitchen when we had a chance, to borrow big plastic plates and other things for the camp. We left church when Rosary started at around 5pm. Wow… I’ve spent nearly 8 hrs at church in the one day.

Cats Watching TVOnce again, thanks to Leung papa and Leung mama again for delicious dinner and for taking care of us. Then it was time for music search. Maybe that odd bit of perfectionist was working in me again, I really had to try and listen to all songs before I was satisfied with the quality. Hopefully there won’t be a lot of songs that needs to be re-searched. Megs is so good at massage~~ gotta learn from her when I get a chance :D So apparently Formula One (F1) was on TV, I’ve never watched real F1 before, except clips on TV and in anime (Cyber Formula). Thoroughly enjoyed watching it. It’s the driver’s skill, techniques and team work that made it fun to watch. Luckily B&A were there to explain the happenings. Home around 12:30am. Time to rest before the camp~

Preparing Our Hearts

Two days ago on Saturday, after a hectic morning at Chinese school, went off to a leadership retreat at Sister’s place in the afternoon. C invited Father Long to join us at the retreat, and it made the whole retreat experience even more worthwhile (and gosh did C look terrible… haha) Did a test-run Taizé, refined songs/keys, and tried the bible study. We all had an opportunity to chat to Father one-on-one and did Reconciliation. He’s the one Father who I felt extremely confortable to talk with. You can really feel that God was there with us in the room.

The Sisters of St Paul de Chartres made us dinner! Super yummy~ And.. yesterday was Nic’s bday! So we had a celebration too :D Afterwards it was more work at C’s place with camp prep stuff. I had fun at the computer with Tina, though at times I wondered what I was doing there. B&M’s game prep sounded interesting too. Sleepy… while waiting for C, I managed to finish the HKAQ flyer for their upcoming pharmacy talk. Worked more on Taizé schedule. Everything should pretty much be finalised now. Can’t wait till next weekend!

Nic and I were the last ones to leave at around 2:30am in the morning - and we didn’t even realise the time till we hopped onto the car and saw the clock @@ maybe timeless can be a “good thing” afterall - you forget that you’re “tired”!
